I'm also a genealogist, & intertwine my writings with the facscinating lives--real lives--of people
who've come before us, to make us what we are today. I have relatives & friends of the past--long since
gone from this world--whose story needs to be told. I shall tell those stories to you. . .the likes of
Susan Rice, a 6 year-old Connecticut child indentured into a life of servitude, & murdered by her caregiver
at the tender age of 7; or Robert A. Rowe, a brave, plucky Confederate soldier from Louisiana who not only
fought in the Civil War, was captured at Rappahannock & held as a POW at Point Lookout, MD, but who was also
a war correspondent for the Opelousas Courier. . .& he was my great-great grandfather, born on the same
day as was I. . .& as was Susan Rice.
